Hampton Roads is an area of Virginia rich in history, culture, and entertainment. Located 200 miles south of Washington D.C., this metropolitan region is comprised of seven bustling cities - Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.

The Tidewater region has a long-standing naval history that dates back to the American Revolution when the British Royal Navy sailed into the Chesapeake Bay and up the James River looking for American forces. Since then, Hampton Roads has become a major center for military presence, with many installations located within its boundaries, including Langley Air Force Base and Naval Station Norfolk. In addition to its naval history, Hampton Roads also prides itself on its vibrant culture and attractions.
