You’re almost ready to put your house on the market & you know the market is strong.
You want to make sure you get top dollar, right?! So, what home improvements are worth your time & money?
Here are six to consider:
Paint
A fresh coat of paint is one of the cheapest, easiest ways to update your home and get it ready to list. Some popular paint colors for 2022 are Benjamin Moore, Gray Owl; Sherwin Williams, Eider White; and Pantone, Perfectly Pale.
Curb Appeal
Pressure wash your driveway and sidewalks, and maybe your home’s exterior. Refresh the house numbers, lay down fresh mulch, and add a few planters filled with annuals to the porch.
Kitchen
Give cabinets, appliances, and backsplashes a serious scrubbing. Install new hardware and consider new light fixtures and possibly replacing countertops if needed. A full reno is often not needed in today’s market.
Bathrooms
Clean is king! But so is functionality so repair running toilets and leaky faucets, and consider replacing dingy toilet seats.
Lighting
The brighter the better. Ditch heavy drapes for breezy curtains (or no curtains at all) to let in as much natural light as you can.
Floors
There's nothing like walking into a home with brand new carpet or freshly refinished hardwood floors. If you can, consider refinishing your wood floors and replacing old, stained carpet — don't worry, the return on investment is very high.
